And thank you for taking the time to visit my homepage – an introduction to my academic interests and a blog journal of thoughts that arise through reading.
I have just defended a PhD at University College London. My degree is in Comparative Literature, in a newly launched stand called Creative Critical Writing. Its aim is to acknowledge the creative potential of critical thinking and its formulation in words. I am particularly interested in how the form of presentation affects the conceptual argument. Conventionally, a doctoral thesis begins with a research question, defines a method and presents evidence that builds up to a conclusion; my work, on contrast, resists conclusions. I do not seek to prove, but to pay attention – to words as they form writing and are informed by it in their turn.
